Mission-Driven Programs and Services
We at Flat River Outreach Ministries in Lowell, Michigan, are true to our mission of “helping our neighbors in need by walking alongside, helping them improve their quality of life.” And we live out this mission through a variety of programs and services, which are summarized below. Whether they are hungry, hurting, broken, or broke, we strive to help area residents meet their needs. And in doing so, they can then expand their options, set goals, and improve their lives.
Through our Feeding Families Program, Flat River Outreach Ministries helps people living on limited incomes or facing a financial crisis. We help them take control of their budgets and get back on track to where they need to be. To accomplish this, one of the services FROM provides is no-cost, nutritious food to qualifying residents. Programs include Client Choice Food Pantry, Foodmobile, Summer Lunch for kids, and Commodities.
Flat River Outreach Ministries offers a variety of seasonal programs. Programs include Christmas Distribution, Backpack Distribution, Vita Tax Preparation, and Neighbor to Neighbor (winter weatherization and home repair).
In partnership with the Salvation Army, FROM helps eligible low-income households meet home energy costs for their primary residence.
Medical Equipment Loan Program
Through our Medical Equipment Loan Program, we provide free use of durable medical equipment, such as wheelchairs, to families during times of illness and recovery.
