Mobile Food Pantry

In partnership with local churches, FROM offers a monthly Mobile Food Pantry through Feeding America to provide healthy food options for those living in the Lowell Area School District who are in need of food.

The Mobile Food Pantry is held at the FROM Food Pantry one Saturday a month (except for December).

When you donate to FROM your donation helps our neighbors address financial issues, food insecurity, and more during this pandemic. You help us provide HOPE to our neighbors in need.

Who Can Come to the Mobile Food Pantry?

In line with Feeding America‘s program qualifications, the Mobile Food Pantry is available to anyone who lives in the Lowell Area School District and meets at least one of the criteria below

  • in need of emergency food
  • a participant in an income-based program such as WIC, CFSP, Cash Assistance (FIP)
  • a household with children who receive free/reduced priced meals at their school through the National School Lunch Program or Food Stamps (FAP)
  • in a household where the income falls at or below the federal poverty guidelines

What to Expect During My First Time

Until further notice, Mobile Food Pantry will be operating as a drive-up only option. **Click here to see additional COVID-19 protocols.**

When the Mobile Food Pantry is back to running normally, you can expect that when you come to FROM, you will be greeted by a volunteer who will direct you where you need to go. There will be a short form to fill out, including household size, and you can enjoy a cup of coffee while you wait for a volunteer to  direct you down to the Food Pantry.

We encourage you to bring your own box/bag to take the items home in. Each person will be given the same amount of items from each station (amounts are adjusted for larger households).

If you need assistance bringing the items out to your vehicle, please let a volunteer know and someone can help you.

What Kinds of Foods Can I Expect at the Mobile Food Pantry?

The goal of the Mobile Food Pantry is to provide foods that fit our Healthy Food Policy Policy (read more about that here). Because this program is in partnership with Feeding America, the foods available each month may vary with what is currently in season.

There will always be fruits and vegetables and may often include whole grains and proteins. Past items have included frozen meat, grapes, potatoes, salad, apples, oranges, etc.

Mobile Food Pantry Hours:

The Mobile Food Pantry is offered one Saturday a month (except December) from 10:00 a.m.- 12:00 p.m. For exact dates, click here to visit our calendar.
